What is Bamboo?

Bamboo is a mobile ordering platform that lets customers browse menus, order ahead and pay securely from their phone. Whether it's coffee, lunch or dinner, Bamboo helps customers skip the queue and collect their order when it's ready.

Founded in 2016, Bamboo was created to make ordering food and drink faster and more convenient for both customers and businesses.

Today, Bamboo continues that mission under new ownership, with a renewed focus on reliability, innovation and supporting independent cafés, restaurants, delis and food outlets across Ireland.

How does it work?

Using Bamboo is simple. Search for a nearby venue or browse participating businesses, open their menu, choose your items and place your order through the app.

Your order is sent directly to the business, where it is prepared fresh. You'll receive an estimated collection time and a notification when your order is ready.

What does it cost?

The Bamboo app is free to download and use.

A small processing fee may apply to orders placed through the platform. Any applicable fees are displayed clearly before you complete your payment.

Where can I use Bamboo?

Bamboo is available at cafés, restaurants, delis and food outlets across Ireland, with new venues joining the platform regularly.

ORDERING

+ What do I do when my order is ready?

Go to the pickup area and let a member of staff you know you ordered on Bamboo and you'll be given your order

+ How do I change my order after it's been submitted?

Message a member of the team through the 'contact support' button on the final screen. As long as the order hasn't been started it should be possible to cancel and re-submit. Once an order is cancelled a refund is automatically issued.

+ What if I need to cancel my order?

Just message a member of the team through the 'contact support' button on the final screen. As long as the order hasn't been started it should be possible to cancel. Once an order is cancelled a refund is automatically issued. If the order has been started it is up to the restaurant whether the order can be refunded.

+ When will I be refunded if my order is declined?

Once an order is cancelled or declined, a reverse transfer takes place and a refund immediately occurs.

+ I'm running late, can I delay my order?

You'll have to contact a member of the team through the 'contact support' button on the final screen. We'll get in touch with the restaurant as soon as possible and attempt to delay, though this is not always possible.

 

PAYMENT

+ What happens when I get a refund?

When a restaurant declines an order or when a refund takes place in a short period of time it will appear in the form of a reversal instead of a refund. Therefore the original charge drops off your statement, and a separate credit is not issued. If you look at your statement you should see the initial payment will have disappeared.

+ Why can't I pay in cash?

Our goal is to reduce the wait time by streamlining the transaction process. By having to deal cash in the store it only adds on to this and delays the experience.

+ Is the payment method secure?

Yes. Your card details are never shared with anybody. We do not have access to anything but the last four digits of your card number and the expiration date.

+ How do I change my payment method?

Tap the navigation in the top left and go to Payment Methods. Here you can add new cards, remove cards by swiping left as well as change default cards.

+ Do I get a receipt with Bamboo?

Yes, we email you a receipt once a payment occurs. Your order summary will be in your Order History.
