How the Lake of Shadows Hotel enhanced their takeaway service with Bamboo

This landmark seaside hotel in the town of Buncrana has been operating for well over 30 years and is a favourite with both locals and visitors to Inishowen. The hotel is well known for its food, accommodation and overall genuine hospitality. They’ve always offered takeaway to locals but it has become a core part of their business over the past couple of years.
Making the most of takeaway dining
The Lake of Shadows was primarily an in-venue dining experience but like a lot of other businesses in Ireland, the pandemic forced them to re-assess their business model and give more of a focus to takeaway.
Keeping the team and customers safe
The hotel had a takeaway in service pre-covid but now it needed more of a push. This time around it had to be seamless to ensure their customers and team felt safe. That’s where Bamboo came in!

“It saves customers coming in and using cash and credit cards. The customer can place their order on bamboo, sit and wait in their car until we tell them it’s ready on the app then they just pick up their order and go.”

“We’re well used to using Bamboo now. If we need help or require any changes it’s never been a problem for the Bamboo team. If we run out of an item on the menu we can just take it off on our end.”
Results
Patricia told us that Bamboo orders make up a good portion of their sales, at least 2 - 4 out of 10 come through the app! The customers and staff are happy to use Bamboo as it speeds up the process by allowing transactions to be cashless, contactless and queueless.
