At 19 years old, Andrea Kelly from Buncrana, Co.Donegal started her business On The Go Coffee Co. just six months before the COVID 19 Pandemic hit Ireland. With a pandemic wreaking havoc on small businesses across the country, Andrea needed something that would be a speedy and contactless solution for her customers and team.

Reduce Queues

Andrea chose Bamboo at the very start before On The Go opened. She wanted to stop the queue of people that would gather at busy times.

Changes in Customer Behaviour

The pandemic brought with it some changes to customer behaviour. More people were ordering with cards and online through Bamboo for click & collect orders.

Increase Orders, Reduce Wait Times

On The Go’s queues were often at least 10 people deep. To get through that, sometimes took half an hour. Being on Bamboo, On The Go are able to have the orders ready just before the customer arrives. 

“I had to hire about three more staff when Bamboo orders really kicked in during COVID - everybody was ordering on it, it was unbelievable! We were very busy. It took 1.5 staff to run bamboo alone” - Andrea, Owner of On The Go Coffee Co., Buncrana

Positivity During a Pandemic

On The Go has not only survived but boomed in the midst of a worldwide pandemic. We’re delighted to see one of our valued customers do so well in such a strenuous time. As more people came outdoors during the lockdown, On the Go became the safe place to meet a friend for social distanced coffee and chat. On The Go got so busy that Andrea even considered installing a coffee machine solely for Bamboo orders 🙌
